11/17/13 Ginger has been adopted by Cathye Knouse and Sissy Cammisa of Troy, NY. Ginger is a purebred
Affenpinscher who was surrendered to us along with a couple of breeder pugs and another Affenpinscher.
It was kind of a package deal so we took all four dogs. Ginger was completely traumatized and terrified
of humans when she arrived. She was so frightened, that when she arrived in NY and we tried to take her
out of her crate, she bolted and got away from us. She took off and was lost in a cornfield and woods
for 12 days. This dog is a survivor and was located in a yard near the woods where she was lost. She
ultimately had to be trapped by Animal Control. We knew that she needed someone with animal behaviorist
training and extreme patience to prepare her for adoption. The rest is history. We gave her to Cathye
Knouse for fostering and Ginger slowly came out of her shell. In the meantime, Cathye's sister, Sissy
Cammisa came to stay with her. Ginger took to Sissy right away. Ginger is so in tune with Sissy, that
she alerts when a seizure is about to happen. Sissy and Cathye say they feel blessed to have Ginger, but
somehow, we think this was just meant to be.

with her every day. Munchkin is one of those unflappable, dogs that lets nothing bother him.
Munchkin is a Pug/Peke mix and about as cute as any dog you will ever meet. This is one of
those rescue stories that really touches your heart. Munchkin was found wandering at a large
truck stop and no one ever claimed him. From a life as a vagabond to therapy dog - how great
is that? We are happy for Munchkin, but also happy for the children whose lives he will impact.

8-7-13 Otis has been adopted by Valerie Ainsworth of West Chazy, NY. Otis was surrendered to GMPR
because of anxiety and insecurity. He had begun marking territory in his home. There were two other
dogs in the home and they were dominant over Otis. When Otis came into his foster home, he was a perfect
gentleman and did not exhibit any anxious behavior. So many times the dynamic in the household generates
the problem. People get anxious the dog gets anxious and behavior issues are typically the outcome.
Otis is such a perfect pug, that his foster mom fell in love with him almost immediately. (She has a habit
of doing this!) It was a match made in heaven for both Valerie and Otis!

7-8-13 Mikey has been adopted by the Richdale Family of Rochester, NH. Mikey has been waiting a long
time for his perfect forever home. The Richdale's have been waiting for just the right pug to complete
their family. After losing their special pug after so many years, they were looking for a pug to fill

Black and male were their primary choices. An older pug with some mileage and history was what they wanted.
They are retired and wanted a pug that was at the beginning of it's golden years. What a perfect fit Mikey
is. Mikey is settling in and enjoying all the one on one attention.
Congratulations Richdale's and Mikey for finding each other!

7-2-13 Harley has been adopted by the VanAmerongen Family of Saratoga, NY. Harley came to GMPR with issues
and insecurity. We were told that he nips at children if they get in his space. Harley does nip, but he
also bites! While in foster care, his foster mom learned how to deal with his quirks and maintain a healthy
pack mentality with her other pugs. Feeling that no one else would understand Harley like her family did,
she decided to adopt him. We are so glad she did.
Here is Harley with her son Matt and they are good buddies. Harley gave Matt a good bite when they first met,
but now they have a perfect understanding.
Thank You Stefanie and Family for adopting this quirky not so adoptable pug!!

Ace and Dame were adopted on Saturday, 6-15-13 by Jane Buffett of Camden, ME. Jane has had pugs
for over 45 years. Her very first paycheck when she became an RN was to purchase her 1st Pug.
Over the years, Jane has always had 2 pugs at a time as she believes that they do best in pairs.
She recently lost her last pug at the ripe old age of 17 years old. She was missing the snorts
and snots of pugs and along came Ace and Dame, a very sweet pair of special pugs. Ace and Dame
were surrendered by their owner, an RN who had fallen on hard times. Loving them as much as she
did, she made the difficult decision to surrender them to GMPR. We are delighted that Ace and
Dame have found a home together with a pug person who will adore them, and spoil them as much as
their former Mom did. The start of this story is tragic, but the ending is perfect! Ace and Dame
will continue to recieve the love they have always known, and provide the joy that only pugs know how to do!

Bella Rose was adopted on 5/28/13 by Margaret MacDonald of Jericho, VT.
Bella Rose was surrendered to GMPR because she was not receiving enough attention and was crated for long hours
at a time. Bella Rose objects to being crated and barked non-stop when she was. The apartment living situation
was not conducive to Bella Rose barking all day and night. Other than the crate barking, Bella Rose is an
absolutely perfect pug, housebroken, social, and loving.
Congratulations Margaret and Bella Rose! We are so happy you found each other!

Jake the Puggle has been adopted by Eddie Bennett and Family of North Conway, NH on 5-18-13.
Eddie and his partner, Christopher, run a Bed and Breakfast Inn. They have 2 adorable children
and now that their B&B is up and running, felt it was time to add a dog to their family. They
took care of a pug for 6 months when their friends moved to England. Eddie grew up with Beagles,
so a Puggle was a natural choice.
If you ever get to North Conway, NH, please stop in at the Cranmore Inn and visit with Jake, Eddie, and Family!!

Which is a good thing! She was placed in the Prison Cell Dog Program, where she was socialized, and much loved by several inmates
during the year she was there. This is a wonderful program where dogs are given a 2nd chance at life, and
the inmates benefit as well. Dogs can touch your heart and help people express love and emotions. It is
a rigorous program where certain standards are met monthly. The dogs graduate and are ready for their new
forever homes. Debby recently lost her pug Julie Rose and Karma came along at just the right time to fill up the hole in
